La journée internationale du livre pour enfants a été célébrée ce vendredi 02 avril 2021. En république de Guinée, des acteurs évoluant dans le secteur de perfectionnement du livre ont profité de l’occasion pour inviter les parents à initier leurs enfants à la lecture.
Boubacar Diallo de la collection jeune à l’édition Harmattan Guinée, souhaite que les parents achètent des livres pour les enfants « il faut que les enfants commencent dès à base âge à lire des livres, ne serait-ce que feuilleter les pages. Nous avons un point de lecture celui du jardin de 2 octobre qui est uniquement dédié aux enfants, c’est un point de lecture qui a été financé par l’UNICEF, aujourd’hui il y a beaucoup de parents qui viennent au jardin en faisant le sport, il laisse leurs enfants à la maison. Nous avons énormément de livres d’enfants, des livres de la Guinée, des livres étrangers. Donc même si les enfants ne sont pas habitués on n’hésite pas à leur donner le livre, même si certains le déchire, mais l’objectif que l’enfant s’habitue déjà à voir le livre » indique-t-il.
Même son de cloche chez Kadiatou Kouboura Baldé initiatrice de weekend lecture et gérante d’une bibliothèque de la place « aujourd’hui notre combat c’est de ramener les gens à la lecture mais on est bien conscient que les choses doivent se faire à la base donc il faut aller avec les enfants, il n’y a pas que la nourriture simplement qui compte pour les enfants. Il y a aussi le livre. Le livre aussi c’est une autre forme de nourrir l’enfant donc il faut dès à base âge amener les enfants vers le chemin de la lecture car il est l’avenir de demain surtout à nos sœurs qui sont souvent avec eux à la maison » lance-t-elle.
Cette journée n’a pas été célébrée en Guinée à cause de la crise sanitaire qui sévit actuellement le monde.
